C-17 Globemaster, The Boeing (formerly McDonnell Douglas) C-17 Globemaster III is an American strategic airlifter manufactured by Boeing Integrated Defense Systems, and operated by the United States Air Force.

 

MAAS TEAM
The MAAS is a Mobile Aircraft Arresting System designed to support rapid and safe aircraft recovery and aborted takeoffs.  The MAAS is a completely self-contained system which requires no external power and  is designed for rapid deployment. If a portion of a runway becomes unavailable or unserviceable, the MAAS can be located (or relocated) to a serviceable portion of the runway quickly.
